Two For Tuesday: I'm Only Sleeping

Kate Hart
What is it? Post two of anything: book reviews, pictures, quotes, poems, songs, videos, rants, shout outs, whatever floats your boat. Just connect them somehow. That's it.

Today: I love sleeping. Sleeping's my favorite.

I don't like to go to bed, though. Not until at least 2:00 am. (Case in point: I'm writing this post at 1:11.) Turns out my night owl proclivities mean I'm smart. So smart, in fact, that it took me several tries to spell "proclivities," and it still looks wrong. Like perhaps it's secretly a dirty word.

Or maybe that's also the 1am talking.

So! All this night owling (late night hootery? look, I don't even know) means I am also a fan of naps - both the adult kind, which are conveniently supported by Jennifer at The Practical Napper, and the adorable child kind.

Are you a night owl? Or are you one of the freak morning people, like my husband? (He claims to bring me coffee in bed as a gesture of love and affection, but we both know it's at least 50% self-defense.) Where's the craziest place you've ever fallen asleep? Any tips on how to fall asleep at a normal hour or wake up before noon? I could use them. For now I'm going to bed... after I look at one... more... thing........

  1. I used to be a night owl, but the older I get, the earlier I fall asleep at night. I used to sleep until 11 or 12 on the weekends, now I can't even sleep past 9. Working in a school is exhausting!

  2. I'm neither a night or morning person, actually. I'm more of a late morning person. What blows about that is that's the time I'm usually stuck at the office. (Boo.)

Oddest place I fell asleep? In the shower. Standing up.

  3. Definitely a night owl. Although being at school makes me crave sleep, because I'm usually up till 1 am doing homework. Woohoo!

  4. I am with Joshy on this one. I start getting ready for bed around 9-10 PM (and then I read in bed for apprx. 2 hrs. but whatever). I used to stay up late and embrace the napping, but that led to behavior like falling asleep in the front row of my 15-person French class. Em. Barr. Ass. Ing.

Also your kids are sooooo adorbs.

  5. I am definitely an early bird. And the craziest place I've fallen asleep may have been at a red light...

  6. Night owl all the way. Morning people are sick in the head.

  7. Well, I am reading this at 1:59am... So yes, yes I am a night owl!
