Two For Tuesday: Diversionary Tactics

Kate Hart
What is it? Post two of anything: book reviews, pictures, quotes, poems, songs, videos, rants, shout outs, whatever floats your boat. Just connect them somehow. That's it.

Today: Distractions.

I say this with absolutely zero hyperbole or exaggeration: My household has been sick non-stop since Halloween. I think we've had maybe five days total in which all four of us were well-- and that doesn't even include my cat, who has skin cancer. (Don't worry, he's okay.)

So obviously I have spent a lot of time in bed, either taking care of myself (today) or entertaining sick children (most days). Y'all know I have no trouble finding random things on the internet, but the past few weeks have really tested my dedication to wasting time online. However! I have persevered, and I bring to you the spoils. Feel free to use them in your querying, on sub or otherwise desperate times of need.

  • Since I started writing again, I've been on a continual quest for new music. Spinner.com has several great albums up for full, free listens-- today I've particularly liked the albums from Four Tet and The National. You can also listen to streaming music from KEXP in Seattle, which I'm told has the newest of the new music. (Thanks to Vicki Lame for tweeting the former link and my friend Sterling for emailing me the latter.)

  • And finally, the requisite Twilight joke: Eff Yeah Jumping Rob amuses me much, much  more than it should. You have to scroll through a lot of dumb ones to find the funny, but that's the way most memes go, right? (This one is actually my favorite, but it requires back story I'm embarrassed to even know, so yeah. Click if you want. And don't judge me.) (Okay, maybe a little.)

Found any good distractions lately?
Link all ridiculousness and hilarity in the comments!

      3. Love the newspaper poetry!

I think you may have linked to it on your other blog, but this is a pretty awesome distraction.
