Two For Tuesday: Handmade Holidays

Kate Hart
What is it? Post two of anything: book reviews, pictures, quotes, poems, songs, videos, rants, shout outs, whatever floats your boat. Just connect them somehow. That's it.

Today: Homemade gifts for readers and writers

I am generally horrified by the destruction of books, but I'll accept that it's okay to buy an extra copy strictly to take apart. You could also photocopy pages to use for these projects.

PhotobucketONE: Make fabric from book pages

I'm not sure I'd want to read my own book at the table every day, but pages from a personal favorite or poetry would be interesting. It could even trick your kids into reading the classics!

This is so sweet-- the blogger received this from a beta reader, who printed out her favorite lines from the author's manuscript to create the gift. You could also use an author's covers and blurbs to create something really thoughtful.

  1. Very nice. That picture frame would take all of 3.5 seconds, too. Gotta love that. :D

  2. I LOVE the picture frame idea. So cool!

  3. howdy do, kate! i took your idea to my blog. keep in mind, i'm an extra novice, completely untrained writer just floating through space. your creativity is inspiring!
