Road Trip Wednesday: Carrot and Stick

This Wednesday, YA Highway wants to know: How do you reward yourself for reaching writing goals?

Oh. Um.... We're supposed to reward ourselves?

That might explain my abysmal writing progress as of late. *scowls at word count*

I dunno. When I got an agent, I had every intention of celebrating with a fancy dinner or something, but it just never happened. The BFF sent me some truffle olive oil and I think the husband bought me flowers? It's all kind of a blur. When this draft is finished, I have a copy of the last Jean Auel book and an ARC of Spoiled waiting for me, but more than anything, I'm looking forward to the relief of just being done.

Maybe I'm not a carrot kind of girl. My new goal is to finish a draft before ALA at the end of June... but I've missed several self-imposed deadlines already. Perhaps we should brainstorm sticks? INTERNET, WILL YOU HELP ME THINK OF WAYS TO HUMILIATE MYSELF? I know, I know, public embarrassment on the internet? Unheard of! But desperate times call for desperate measures.

So. I invite you to leave your punishment ideas in the comments. I draw the line at tattoos and animal cruelty. Please keep in mind that I am human and humans count as animals.

This should end well.
