Road Trip Wednesday: Go Naked

Kate Hart
This week, YA Highway wants to know:
Are you a plotter or a pantser?

Do you like to make a detailed plan before you start a project? Or do you prefer to fly by the seat of your pants and make it up as you go along?

It is ironic that the opposite of being a pantser would be going without, when I'm pretty sure that an outline of this breadth has me fully covered. Possibly to the point of suffocation.

Also, it is fun to mix metaphors.

How about you? Head over to YA Highway and play along!

As usual, your spreadsheets are amazing! I seriously don't know how you do it!

  2. i'm trying to train myself to become a plotter, because as fun as pantsing is, it makes for excruciating revisions. i want to take plotting lessons from you.

  5. Ahhhh.... Excel makes everything okay. I swear, creating a spreadsheet is like taking a drink. It calms the nerves.

  6. Ah, so you're one of those super outliners I'm totally jealous of! Color me crazy impressed. :D

  7. Sometimes I am jealous of people who can outline so intensely as you do! I think in the long-run it would make for less revisions for me. Alas, I am mostly a pantser, but that's what works for me.

  8. I loosely outline the first draft, and then go into detail for the second draft. Flat out pantsing would get me no where. You seem to be quiet the outliner! ;) Holy smokes!

  15. That is some crazy plotting! I've never written in more than one POV, but I think this type of breakdown would be especially helpful for that.

  16. I am a huge pantser. I try to make outlines, but somehow I never make them work. It's hell on revisions, but it's the price I pay. I'm jealous of plotters because I wish I had that organization.

  17. I guess I'm a plotter who is easily led astray by shiny things

  18. Wow, I envy your outline. How long does it take you to finish it before you start writing?
