Road Trip Wednesday: Behind the Front

Kate Hart
This week, YA Highway wants to see your favorite book covers. I have been looking at covers a lot recently so it was hard to narrow down my choices, but here are a few that caught my eye.

favorite book covers 2011

A few notes:

uno) I tried not to repeat any from my list of almost two years ago, and it's weird to see that although I don't like purple in general, apparently I consistently like it on covers.

dos) I've read exactly half of these, but they're all on my TBR list because That Cover Girl has fabulous taste and posts books I wouldn't have found otherwise.

tres) Yes I did use a Black Eyed Peas album as my post title. IT WAS PRE-FERGIE, OKAY. We couldn't know their heinous future back then.

What are your favorites? Head over to YA Highway and link your post in the comments!

  1. You have excellent cover taste! They're all so different, yet they somehow share a common mood too. And thanks for linking That Cover Girl... I hadn't seen that blog before. Definitely following now!

  2. I agree; great cover taste. Under the Mesquite looks wonderful.

  3. I discovered some pre-Fergie BEP on my iTunes the other day so I will withhold all judgment.

And I love these covers... YOU AGAINST ME is my favorite kind of sexy in a cover. No kissing, ever, on covers. And of course INSURGENT is rocking my socks.

    also, GO PURPLE!

  5. Love them! I hadn't seen the Wintertown cover yet, but I love it. It also sounds really good, so that's a bonus. Thanks for the link to That Cover Girl. I've never heard of the blog before, but it sounds like the kind of site I could get sucked into for hours.

  8. I can't believe I forgot to include Insurgent! It must be because I just saw that cover yesterday. You'd think it'd be on my mind, but I'm notorious for having a horrible short-term memory. Oh well. I kinda want to go back to my post and add it...

  9. Wintertown reminds me a bit of the cover for Blankets, by Craig Thompson

  10. Something tells me you like chartreuse and blue/purple. Me too! Insurgent is my favorite of these, but, boy, I can't resist the greens at the top of your list.
