What I Did On My Summer Vacation

Kate Hart
It's been ten years since I was a student and/or a teacher, but late summer still feels more like the start of a new year to me than January 1. Maybe it's because my publishing career has stayed on the academic calendar: In August 2010, I signed with an agent for the first time. This time last year, I got to announce my first book deal.

This August, I'm starting a new chapter, as my former agent Michelle moves on to a career in teaching. While I hate to lose her, I'm so grateful to have had her as my advocate and friend for the last half decade, and I wish her all the happiness in the world. I'm also happy to share that I'm now signed on with Adriann Ranta, whose enthusiasm and smarts are just as on point, and I'm looking forward to working with her and the team at Wolf Literary.

Meanwhile, I'm finishing up edits on After the Fall, watching the first of my fellow Sweet Sixteens' ARCs make their way into the world, trying to house train a brand new puppy, and waiting for fall to sweep in with cooler temperatures and warmer colors. It's been a busy 2015 so far, and since August is the new January, here's my "year in review" retrospective.
